XIX SEB Conference on Byzantine Studies, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, January 26–29, 2022

The Spanish Society for Byzantine Studies (SEB) convenes the 19th Spanish Conference on Byzantine Studies to be held from 26-29 January 2022 at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Despite the ongoing pandemic—or mostly because of it and the prevailing virtual fatigue—we are favouring physical participation, as personal academic exchange is one of the main values of our meetings. However, we will also accept on-line participation, where duly justified, especially for overseas registrations.

As on previous occasions, the Conference will cover the following main research areas:

• History
• Literature and Philology
• Christianity and Orthodoxy
• Cultures in contact
• Archaeology and Art History
• Sciences

Communications should be ascribed to one of these main sections. After receipt, the organisers will group them into meaningful sessions according to their concordance.
