The Department of History at New York University invites applicants for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor in Medieval History for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Strong preference will be given to those scholars whose work addresses History of the Medieval Mediterranean (including the Black Sea) 500-1500.

The successful candidate will demonstrate scholarly excellence and a commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching. The position is to begin September 1, 2017, pending budgetary and administrative approval.

Candidates must have PhD in hand at the time of appointment.
