The Department of Art History at the University of California, Irvine, seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Art History, with an emphasis on teaching. Applicants from all geographical and chronological specialties in the History of Art will be considered. Preferred areas of expertise include but are not limited to: transatlantic early modern art, medieval art, byzantine art, Southeast Asian art, or ancient Egyptian. Successful candidates should demonstrate ability to teach a range of undergraduate courses (4 courses across three quarters). The recruited candidate will also be responsible for student mentorship and participating in the Department’s 4+1 MA program.

The position is for a one-year appointment (with the possibility of renewal for a second year) beginning July 01, 2022. Ph.D. completion required by June 30, 2022.
