Digital Humanities is a professorship established in 2016 at the Department of History at the University of Vienna, led by Prof. Dr. Tara Andrews. Together with the university’s Data Science Network, we have been closely involved in the founding of the innovative set of masters’ programmes in Digital Humanities, Data Science, and Business Analytics. Our group’s research focuses on the ways in which digital tools and methods can be used to support and advance historical research. As a pre-doctoral University Assistant, you will have the chance to work in a cutting-edge and dynamic environment, breaking new ground in humanities methodology for historical research, and passing on these methods and skills to students in the classroom.

The advertisement is for 4 years, whereby the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.
