The University of Vienna invites applications for the position of University Assistant in the Department of Numismatics and Monetary History (reference number 2816).
The successful applicant will contribute to/participate in the following activities:
- Research, teaching and administration
- Research projects / scientific studies
- Publications / scientific articles
- Organisation of conferences, meetings, symposiums
- Project application and (external) fundraising
- Preparation/Finalization of a (pushible) dissertation thesis in Numismatics and Monetary history
- Teaching assignments are possible according to the extent regulated by the collective agreement
- Examination acitvities
- Support of students
- Evaluation activities and in quality assurance
- Administration of the department
Qualifications
- MA or equivalent degree in Numismatic studies or a comparable field of study (History, Archeology, History of Art etc. ) with pronounced focus on Numismatics documenting scholarly excellence
- Good knowledge in Ancient, Medieval or Modern Numismatics and Monetary History and numismatic interests for the other historical periods are required
- Excellent knowledge of German and English
- Good knowledge of Latin and another ancient or modern language
