The extensive work of hagiography that is discussed, critically edited, translated into English, and commented upon in the present volume describes the mission and martyrdom of St. Pankratios. Pankratios, a native of Judaea, becomes a Christian and a disciple of the Apostle Peter, who eventually sends him to evangelize Taormina in Sicily.
