The Wittgenstein Project “Mobility, Microstructures and Personal Agency in Byzantium” Team announces a lecture and a scholarly conversation with Prof. Paul Magdalino on the topic "The Houses of the Aristocracy in Palaiologan Constantinople."

Paul Magdalino studied at Oxford, receiving his DPhil in 1977, and is currently Emeritus Professor of Byzantine history at the University of St Andrews. He was elected Fellow of the British Academy in 2002.  He has published widely on many aspects of Byzantine history, especially of the 9th-13th centuries. He is an affiliated scholar of the ‘Moving Byzantium’ project.
