The Society for the Promotion of Byzantine Studies welcomes Professor Paul Magdalino (St Andrews), who will give the SPBS Autumn Lecture The Church of St. John at the Hippodrome and the End of Antiquity in Constantinople.

Paul Magdalino researches the society, culture, and economy of the Byzantine world, from the 6th to 13th centuries. His special interests include the city of Constantinople, astrology and religion, and relations with Western Europe.
