Athanasios Vionis is Associate Professor in Byzantine art and archaeology at the Department of History and Archaeology, and Director of the Archaeological Research Unit of the University of Cyprus.

This lecture is part of the 55th Public Lecture Series celebrating 30 years of research at the Archaeological Research Unit (ARU), University of Cyprus. All lectures of the 55th Series will be delivered by the members of the academic staff of the ARU to showcase their ongoing research endeavors.
