Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Early Modern history.
Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher in the area of Early Modern history with a cutting edge research profile. The researcher should also have a strong commitment to teaching new generations of students so that they can become game-changers in their own fields and make a difference in the world.
The researcher is expected to provide teaching coverage in Early Modern History in BA, MA and PhD courses, according to the needs as defined by the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. Some of the courses must be delivered in English. In particular:
- Global History
- Population History
- Storia Moderna
The selected researcher will be a specialist in the field of Early Modern History, focussing on Comparative European and International history. The Researcher will be expected to conduct a relevant research activity through publications on a good/excellent national and international level, the participation in national and international conferences and research groups. Moreover, the researcher will be committed to participating in competitive calls for research funding or in research groups in occasion of competitive calls for research funding.
The position will be hosted in the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. The Department is unique in its multidisciplinary approach to language, literature and culture, with fertile exchanges between linguistic, literary, historical and political approaches and an international outlook essential to a critical understanding of global society.
