Teaching Fellow in Greek Literature and Classical Reception, University of Birmingham lead image

The University of Birmingham Department of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology is looking to appoint a teaching fellow (0.6) to teach modules in the area of Greek literature and Classical Reception studies. The position is to replace a colleague on research leave and is a fixed-term appointment for twenty-two months from 1 September 2018 to 30 June 2020.

The successful candidate will have: a PhD in Classics/Ancient History or be near completion of a PhD; the expertise to teach Greek Literature at undergraduate and masters levels; the expertise to teach Classical Reception including a module entitled Ancient Greece and Modern Culture; the ability to teach Ancient Greek Language; experience of teaching in a university department or equivalent; fluent written and spoken English; the ability to take on an appropriate departmental administrative role.
