Smarthistory Media Workshop, New York City, August 7–9, 2019
Smarthistory invites applications for an intensive two-day hands-on cultural heritage media workshop for graduate students, art historians, conservators, and museum professionals. Participants will learn how to produce high-quality Smarthistory-style videos with a focus on storytelling, audio and video editing using inexpensive, easy-to-use software, and online publishing. Other topics to be covered will include image rights, recommendations for high-quality but affordable equipment, and utilizing analytics for assessment.
The workshop will take place in Manhattan August 8-9, 2019 (a kick-off dinner will be held the evening of August 7th).
Participation is free but limited to 10 Ph.D. students, art historians, museum professionals, or scholars or professionals from related fields. Doctoral students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Five Ph.D. students will receive a food, lodging, and travel allowance.
