Byzantine Christmas, First Church in Cambridge, December 22, 2015, 8:00pm
The Greek Institute invites you to the Sixth Annual Byzantine Christmas, a concert of virtuosic Byzantine Chant and the traditional Greek Kalanda for the Christmas season, directed by Spyridon Antonopoulos and sung by the PSALTIKON Ensemble.
Dr. Antonopoulos and PSALTIKON will be joined by acclaimed world musicians in a program of Byzantine chants and kalanda, the traditional Christmas carols from various regions of Greece. Beautiful passages from the Christmas stories of Photios Kontoglou (1895–1965) and Alexandros Papadiamantis (1851–1911) will be narrated throughout the program.
