The Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the University of Vienna offers Short-Term Research Stipends to enable Byzantinists from Central, Southern, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe to pursue research at its facilities.

Eligibility
Advanced scholars (final year of doctoral study and above) of Byzantine language, history, art and culture. Research proposals concerning aspects and questions of mobility and migration in Byzantium and beyond are particularly welcome. Preference will be given to scholars from Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
