The Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, Polish Academy of Sciences invites applications for the position of  Nubian mediaeval ceramics specialist in the Department of Nubiology. The job would include research on finds from Banganarti and Selib in Sudan at least during 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons, culminating in a report which can be used in publication in highly valued periodical or as part of a monograph.

The initial contract will be temporary. After test period, a permanent position is envisaged. General expectations include involvement in research projects of the Institute according to programme set be the Scientific Council of the Institute, submitting the minimum of one scientific publication during every year of employment, involvement and initiative in applying for funds for research at external sources, and participation in activities promoting research conducted by the Institute. Efforts to advance in scientific career (achieving a PhD or habilitation) are also also expected.
