The Department of Environmental Biology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" invites applications for a Researcher to work under the direction of Professor Laura Sadori on a research program related to the project Byzantine Resilience: Environmental History of the Eastern Romans (ByzRes). The project aims to use the Eastern Roman world as a case study for developing a new methodology that will integrate traditional methods of historical research with those of the natural sciences, in particular palaeoecology and palaeoclimatology.

The position is fixed term, lasting three years with the possibility of a two-year extension.

Applicants should have an expertise in archeobotany and palynology.
