The Leibniz Institute of European History invites applications for awards fellowships for international young researchers in history, theology and other historical subjects. Grants are available for projects in the religious, political, social and cultural history of Europe between approx. 1450 and 1970. Projects in a transnational and comparative perspective or addressing questions of transfer are particularly encouraged, as are topics in intellectual, church and theological history.
Applicants should have been awarded their doctorate no more than three years before the beginning of the proposed fellowship (non-academic activities are not relevant to the application). The final examination or defense of the dissertation must have been successfully completed by the application deadline.
