The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work on the AHRC funded project ‘Beyond Notability. Re-evaluating Women's Work in Archaeology, History and Heritage, 1870 – 1950’. The project seeks to transform understandings of women's work in archaeology, history and heritage in the 19th and 20th centuries using inclusive cataloguing and linked open data (LOD) to unlock and share these histories. It is focused on two archives held at the Society of Antiquaries of London (SAL), which from its foundation in 1707 was a hub for archaeological, historical and heritage research.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in information science, digital humanities, or a related subject area. Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
This is a full time 24 month fixed term post, with the anticipated start date of 10 January 2022.
