The Institute of Art History at the University of Cologne invites applications for a 0.5 academic research assistant in the field of medieval or art history of non-European pre-modernity. The position is to be filled as of 01.10.2023 and is initially limited to 3 years.

As research assistant, your duties will include

• Independent research activity for the completion of a doctorate or development of a post-doctoral project
• Lectures (2SWS) in the degree programme of the KHI and, if applicable, the Medieval Master‘s programme
• Participation in the self-administration of the Institute
• Support of the professorship

The successful applicant will have 

• Academic university studies with a completed or well advanced doctorate in the field of medieval or non-European pre-modern art
• Proven interest in medieval art history
• Very good knowledge of English, further language skills, especially Spanish or Arabic. Applicants from abroad are expected to be willing to acquire German language skills
