Durham University invites applications for the role of Project Coordinator for the EAMENA project within the Department of Archaeology. Archaeology is actively involved in a number of international heritage protection projects, which are brought together under the umbrella of the Durham Centre for Cultural Heritage Protection (DCCHP). A major component of this effort is the multi-institutional project Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa (EAMENA). Supported by the Arcadia fund, the project uses satellite imagery to document at-risk heritage in a number of countries in the region. The Durham team is focused on Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, western Iran, and the Caucasus. With support from the Cultural Protection Fund of the British Council, the team also undertakes training and knowledge-exchange programmes designed to build skills in remote sensing and heritage documentation within regional heritage agencies.
The primary responsibility of the postholder will be to deliver administrative and social media support for EAMENA and its associated projects, with a secondary role of supporting DCCHP. The post holder will work with academic and administrative colleagues to support a range of activities within EAMENA and DCCHP, including social media and promotional activities, and the production of communications materials.
