Applications are invited for the post of Project Administrator for the ERC funded project, "The Impact of the Ancient City", based in the Faculty of Classics. This is a varied and interesting post for a project manager and all-round administration professional to provide administrative and research support for a team of 7 researchers.

Reporting to the PI, Professor Andrew Wallace-Hadrill, the role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the project office and will need to be self-motivated and able to work effectively during periods when the research staff are based abroad. The role holder will be the main point of contact between the PI, the Senior Research Associate, the Research Associates, PhD Student, as well as the funding body, the Faculty, School and wider University.

The successful candidate will establish and maintain the project database, archive and website, and provide ongoing research support as directed by the PI. They will also be responsible for maintaining all budgets and accounts for the €2.5 million ERC award. The role holder will also provide executive administrative support to the PI and project team members for all aspects of the project including travel and fieldwork arrangements, workshops and international conferences.

Candidates must have a degree level education and a proven track record of relevant professional administrative and research experience. Candidates will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work on her/his own initiative, prioritise work, maintain accuracy and work to tight deadlines.

This position is limited by funding and will be for 4 years in the first instance.
