The Institute of Art History (Faculty of History and Philosophy, FB 08) of the University of Münster, Germany, invites applications for the position of a full professorship: Professorship of Art History / History of Architecture.

The position will start on 1 April 2020. The successful candidate is required to have a distinct research focus in architectural history and theory. In his or her teaching activity, the field of art history should be covered in its entirety; another focus should be in the area of medieval art and the beginning of the early modern age. Responsible participation in current and future research networks is expected, and the successful candidate should be internationally visible.

Conditions of employment are a successfully completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude and competence in academic research, usually attested by an excellent doctoral dissertation. Prerequisites for the position are further academic achievements made as a Juniorprofessor (assistant professor), in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), or as a member of the academic staff of a university or a non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
