A Pre-Doctoral position in affiliation with Professor Andreas E. Müller is to be filled at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, beginning June 1, 2021 The Position is limited to four years, with a weekly work load of 30 hours.

The successful applicant will contribute to the areas research, instruction and administration, supporting the organization of conferences and other academic gatherings, have the opportunity to enter the doctoral program and write a dissertation, and have the opportunity to gain teaching experience, within the parameters set by Austrian labor laws.

Applicants should have a MA in the field of Byzantine Studies, preferrably in the field of the History of the Byzantine Studies/Modern Greek Studies and on the subject of History of Sciences/Reception History of the field. Excellent acquaintance with the field of manuscripts/archive materials in modern German and Greek language is a mandatory requirement.
