The University of Vienna seeks to fill the position from 01.10.2023 of a University Assistant (prae doc) at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies to 30.09.2027.

A pre-doctoral position in affiliation with Professor Dr. Claudia Rapp is to be filled at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, with the earliest starting date of 1. October 2023. The position is limited to four years, with a weekly work load of 30 hours.

The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.

The successful candidate will have a Master in a relevant academic field (Classics, Byzantine Studies, Late Antique Studies), excellent command of English and the ability to communicate in German.
