The Core Humanities program of the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking candidates for a full-time, temporary postdoctoral teaching fellowship for the 2018–2019 academic year, renewable for up to two additional years. The successful applicant will teach three courses per semester in the Core Humanities program, which offers the university’s required, interdisciplinary courses on human histories and cultures from ancient times to the present: CH 201 Ancient and Medieval Cultures; CH 202 The Modern World; CH 203 American Experiences; and CH 212 Science, Technology, and Society in the Modern World.
Position Responsibilities
Teach the equivalent of three courses per semester and engage in service-related activities in the program, College of Liberal Arts, university, and/or community. Advance an active and promising research agenda in a humanities discipline.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications are a PhD in a humanities discipline (the degree must have been completed sometime between May 2013 and June 2018), demonstrated record of effective teaching, and experience teaching interdisciplinary courses in content areas equivalent to at least two of the four Core Humanities courses.
