The Department of Humanities at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici dell’ Università Ca' Foscari Venezia) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in “The maritime transportation of the marble in Antiquity and in the Middle age” SSD: L-ANT/10 Methods of archaeological research.

The aim of the project is the reconstruction of the routes interested by the transportation of the marble in the ancient and Medieval world proposing  also some indications about the characteristics of the ships. Particular attention will be made on the possible differences in the characteristics of this exceptional transportation from the Roman to the Byzantine world.

The research may be carried out in English. The fellowship is intended to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to pursue his/her own research while benefiting from the range of expertise at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia.
