The Department of History at the University of Basel invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow History of the Late Middle Ages and/or Renaissance.

This fixed-term position is available for a period of 12 months, from August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019.

The successful candidate will be chiefly responsible for preparing a research proposal in the above field of research. The proposal will be submitted to national or international funding institutions (SNSF ambizione, ERC grants, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions etc.); subject to positive assessment, the project overseen by the candidate will be based at the Department of History of the University of Basel.

Especially welcome are projects in the field of entangled, global, social and economic history in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, pre-modern media history, the cultural history of the material, and the history of reception.
