The University of Vienna Department of Art History invites applications for a position as a post-doctoral University assistant (40 hours, full-time). The duration of the contract is 4 years.

Responsibilities include collaboration with and support of the Chair of Byzantine art history (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Lioba Theis) in research and teaching, collaboration with the Digital Research Archive of Byzantium (DiFaB), contributing to the administration of the Institute and your personal teaching (4 hours per week per semester). Preparation of a Habilitation is expected.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent qualification with a focus on Byzantine Art; experience in teaching, research and administration as well as with the buildup of image databases. The ability to work in a team and didactic qualifications are expected.

Required languages: German, English, French, and Greek.
