Port Cities of the Aegean World: Coins, Seals and Weights, İzmir and Manisa, November 1–2, 2018

We are happy to announce that the Symposium on Coins, Seals and Weights from the Port Cities of Aegean World will be organized on 1-2 November 2017 in İzmir and Manisa. Organized by the Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Letters of Dokuz Eylül University, the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Science and Letters of Manisa Celal Bayar University and the Ancient City of Smyrna Excavations, the symposium welcomes all scholars and specialists interested in the subject.

The focus of the symposium will be on the circulated coins, seals and weights found during excavations as well as seals, weights and coins minted at Port Cities of the Aegean World.

Symposium covers a timeframe beginning with the antiquity to the end of the Ottoman Empire reign in the area.
