Jiří Vnouček, conservator of manuscripts at the Royal Library of Denmark, Copenhagen, and guest scholar in the Getty Museum's Department of Paper Conservation, discusses how systematic research based on the visual study of existing manuscripts and practical experiments with historical methods of parchment production can support efforts to date and provenance manuscripts. Talk will include an examination of selected manuscripts from the J. Paul Getty Museum.
