Nubia and the Question of 'Medieval Africa,’ lecture by Giovanni Ruffini (Fairfield University), Barker Center, Harvard University, October 22, 2018, 5:00–7:00 pm

On October 22, 2018, Giovanni Ruffini (Fairfield University) will deliver the second lecture in the Africa in the Medieval World Lecture Series. The Harvard University series is sponsored by the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research, the Committee on Medieval Studies, and the Department of African and African American Studies.

Giovanni Ruffini is Professor of Classical Studies at Fairfield University where he teaches courses on the Roman world in late antiquity and ancient African civilizations. His research interests include the Roman world in late antiquity and its contemporary Nubian and Ethiopian civilizations, ancient social history, and the post-Roman Mediterranean.
