Out of an abundance of caution and in accord with the policies set by Harvard University in response to public health advisories, with the objective of containing the spread of COVID-19, Dumbarton Oaks will cancel all public events through the end of May. These events include Dimiter Angelov's lecture "Virtue and Politics: A Byzantine Debate" (March 26), Imagining the Afterlife in Byzantium, the 2020 Teaching Day (March 28), and Byzantine Missions: Meaning, Nature, and Extent, the 2020 Spring Symposium (April 24–25).
