Newnham College, Cambridge invites applications from women graduates of any university for a Research Fellowship in subjects falling within the general field of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The Fellowship is tenable for three years from 1 October 2022 and is not renewable.

The Newby Trust Research Fellowship is a stipendiary fellowship, for the following subjects only: Archaeology, Classics, the Creative and Performing Arts, English Language, English Literature, History (ancient, medieval and modern), Modern Languages and Linguistics, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Visual Arts and Media.

Candidates are advised that a Research Fellowship is intended for a researcher early in their career.  Applicants are expected to be either a graduate student, probably in the latter stages of research leading to a PhD degree (or equivalent), or a post-doctoral researcher who has recently completed their PhD Degree.

Applications will be accepted from any female graduate of a university within or outside the United Kingdom.
