The School of Advanced Study at the University of London brings together nine internationally-renowned research institutes to form the UK’s national centre for the support of researchers and the promotion of research in the humanities and social sciences. Situated at the heart of the University of London in Bloomsbury, central London, we provide a research base for an international community of scholars; help inspire, develop and support the conditions for research initiatives and networks; and enhance the dissemination of research, and related activities, beyond what could be achieved alone. The School is able to support a small number of Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships. We therefore welcome expressions of interest from candidates wishing to conduct research in one, or more than one, of the following institutes’ subject areas
- Institute of Advanced Legal Studies
- Institute of Classical Studies
- Institute of Commonwealth Studies
- Institute of English Studies
- Institute of Modern Languages Research
- Institute of Historical Research
- Institute of Philosophy
- Institute of Latin American Studies
- The Warburg Institute
Expressions of interest should be submitted by Friday 6 January 2017. Candidates will be informed whether or not the School will support their applications by Friday 3 February 2017. The School will provide those candidates it has decided to support with assistance in refining their full applications to the Leverhulme Trust. These must be submitted to the Leverhulme Trust by the deadline of 4.00 pm, Thursday 2 March 2017.
