The University of Roehampton invites applications from outstanding academics, whether early career researchers or established scholars, in the fields of Classics and Ancient History. In particular, we are looking for candidates with expertise in classical art and/or material culture who have produced world-leading research publications.

Our department covers a broad range of subjects: history, classics, philosophy, theology and religious studies. Members of the Classical Civilisation team have particular research interests in Greek gender and violence, classical oratory and rhetoric, ancient literary criticism, trade and material culture, childhood and myth, and reception studies.
