Classical Studies at The Open University is recruiting a lecturer to play a key role in strengthening and building our inclusive and forward-facing Classical Studies teaching and to contribute to our research profile. The Discipline offers a stimulating and supportive intellectual environment for anyone interested in working across different fields of Classical Studies and contributing to the thriving academic community in the Discipline, School and Faculty.
Classical Studies modules aim to provide students with strong analytical skills and a range of perspectives on the ancient world. The successful candidate will work in a team presenting and maintaining distance-learning resources across our curriculum, focusing on our degrees in BA (Hons) Classical Studies and MA in Classical Studies, along with other interdisciplinary qualifications.
In addition to contributing to teaching within the School of Arts and Humanities, the post-holder will be expected to engage actively in Classical Studies research and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning, knowledge exchange, impact and outreach activities.
