The University of Manchester invites applications for the permanent post of Lecturer in Classical Archaeology (Teaching and Research), which is tenable from 1 September 2022.

The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent in Classics, Archaeology, Ancient History, or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate an excellent research profile in their area, including both track record (subject to stage of career) and future plans.

There is a strong emphasis on Graeco-Roman material cultures and applicants specialising in adjacent fields would need to demonstrate how their skills and experience would enable them both to fulfil essential teaching in classical archaeology and also to demonstrate a research profile that could develop synergies with existing members of staff.
