The University of Exeter is delighted to advertise a full-time, permanent lectureship in Classics and Ancient History, a unit within the newly configured department of Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology, with an open specialism within the field of Ancient Material and Visual Culture, broadly conceived, in its Afro-Eurasian context, which complements our existing expertise in the archaeology of the western Mediterranean and the Roman empire.
The successful candidate will be required to contribute to teaching on our Classics, Classical Studies, Ancient History and MA programmes, focusing on the visual and material culture of the Classical world in its broad Afro-Eurasian setting. They will be able to deliver optional undergraduate modules on this theme, as well as delivering specialist methodological training in the study of ancient visual culture at MA level and in postgraduate supervision.
