The History Department of the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time lecturer in the history of the ancient Mediterranean world for a one-year appointment beginning August 12, 2019. All sub-fields and specializations within this field are welcome, provided the candidate has demonstrated capacity to teach courses in classical and ancient Mediterranean history. Candidates should be prepared to teach lower-division Western Civilization surveys as well as upper-division courses in ancient history. Faculty members at the rank of Lecturer in the Department teach eight undergraduate courses per academic year (4-4).
At the time of appointment, candidates must have an M.A. in History, or in a related field with at least 18 hours of graduate study in History, and teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
