The Board of Electors to the Laurence Professorship of Classical Archaeology invite applications from those whose work falls within the general field of the Professorship to take up appointment on 1 October 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Laurence Professor of Classical Archaeology is expected to take a leading role both in advancing research and teaching in the art and archaeology of the Greek and Roman worlds, broadly understood, and in promoting the field within Cambridge, the UK and internationally. Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international stature, and the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to develop the University's strengths in this area, and to maintain its leading research profile and innovative research culture.
Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge.
