Late Antique Hagiography as Literature, University of Edinburgh, May 20–21, 2015
This two-day workshop will consist of six panel sessions exploring the form, intertextuality, and meaning of key texts of late antique hagiography, as well as a poster display and a keynote speech by Professor Gillian Clark (FBA).
The focus on specifically literary approaches to hagiography is highly innovative while fitting well into the rapidly expanding research area of Late Antiquity (an area whose profile at the University of Edinburgh is particularly prominent).
The workshop is designed to result in more substantial international and interdisciplinary collaboration around literary hagiography in the form of a research network.
