Junior Research Fellowship in History, Trinity College, University of Oxford lead image

Trinity College, University of Oxford invites applications for a stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in History, tenable for a fixed term of three years from 1 October 2022. The objectives of the College in making this appointment are to support outstanding early career academics in their first independent work, to develop and strengthen the research environment of the College, and to contribute to the goal of maintaining the University of Oxford as a leading centre for research.

The Fellowship is open to researchers who

  • have recently been awarded a doctorate or who are very close to submission of their doctoral thesis. Applicants awarded a PhD following a viva voce examination held prior to 1 October 2020 will not be considered unless there are specific extenuating circumstances, such as interruption to their academic career due to parental leave or illness.
  • have not held a comparable career development appointment at Oxford or another university. A comparable appointment is deemed to be a salaried, research-only appointment for the purposes of self-directed research.
