Iviron through the Ages, Ilia State University online, December 2, 2023

The Medieval Studies Center of Ilia State University is pleased to announce a call for papers for International Online Workshop “Iviron through the Ages”. The Workshop aims to bring together specialists from various fields who deal with monastic studies, and in particular, Iviron, one of the most important Athonite Monasteries founded by Georgian monks in the 980s. The Workshop is dedicated to 1040 years since the foundation of Iviron. The Workshop is expected to lay the foundation for the further collaboration of scholars from different academic traditions discussing the religious, historical, political and cultural dimensions of Iviron over the centuries from the various perspectives and methodological approaches.
