The University of Melbourne invites applications for the Hansen Senior Lectureship in History.

The Hansen Senior Lectureship in History is one of a number of new appointments established to position the History Program at Melbourne at the forefront of innovation and excellence in History teaching, and to increase the public and engagement profile of History at the University of Melbourne.

The appointee will have an established research specialisation in an aspect of History; the field of expertise for this post is open. The Hansen Senior Lecturer will be expected to make key contributions in the areas of teaching, engagement and research, including RHD supervision. The successful candidate will have the potential to achieve a high level of research performance through refereed publications and the securing of research grants. A principal duty of the Hansen Senior Lecturer in History will be to contribute to the development of innovation and excellence in History teaching, to engage, nurture and extend interest in the discipline within the broader community, and to develop strategies for increasing undergraduate enrollments in history, especially from students outside of the Faculty of Arts.
