The Haifa Center for Mediterranean History (HCMH) seeks applications for postdoctoral fellowships for the academic years 2023-25. HCMH began its work some five years ago, promoting the historical study of the pre-modern Mediterranean in Haifa and Israel, and aiming to correspond with the vibrant international networks of Mediterranean research. We are looking for candidates able to demonstrate proven academic excellence in their respective fields of expertise, together with an extensive background in Mediterranean studies. We encourage applications from candidates working in all related fields.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. by the beginning of the fellowship tenure period, and no longer than 5 years. We expect the successful candidate to devote his/her time to research, be present on the Haifa campus and take an active role in the academic life of HCMH: attend all seminars and lectures, present their research in different forums, meet informally with advanced students, etc.
