“Greek Studies in 15th-16th century Europe” is a one-day conference organized by Paola Tomè. Dr. Tomè directs “Greek Studies in 15th Century Europe,” a Marie Curie individual research project based at the Medieval and Modern Languages Faculty, University of Oxford, under the supervision of Martin McLaughlin and Nigel Wilson. The purpose is to investigate the crucial role played by the return of knowledge of Greek in the transformation of European culture, both through the translation of texts, and through the direct study of the language.
