Ge'ez Language Lecturer, Princeton University

The Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) is seeking to appoint a part-time or full-time Lecturer in Ge'ez, with an expected start date of September 1, 2023. Appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer. We anticipate the position to span the 2023-2024 academic year, with the possibility of renewal pending departmental need and satisfactory performance. Appointment duty time will depend upon course enrollments.

Native or near-native fluency in Ge'ez and English, and proven experience in teaching Ge'ez at the university level, are absolutely essential. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. or M.A. working toward Ph.D. preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Linguistics, African Studies, or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will also be considered when there is evidence of sustained experience teaching Ge'ez at the university level. Proven experience in coordination (course, level, or program) and curriculum development will be a plus.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
