Forum Moving Byzantium I: Revolution in Byzantium, Institut für Byzantinistik und Neogräzistik, Universität Wien, June 6, 2016, 5–6:30 pm

This new discussion group is organised within the framework of the Wittgenstein-Prize-Project of Prof. Claudia Rapp on Mobility, Microstructures and Personal Agency in Byzantium and will be devoted to the reading and discussion of studies relevant for that project from the point of view of methodology or research topic.

The first meeting will discuss issues of political dynamics and in(stability) on the basis of some recent works of Anthony Kaldellis, especially his book on the "Byzantine Republic"; the topic will be introduced by Yannis Stouraitis, one of the project collaborators.
