Harvard University's Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece (CHS Greece) is looking for a qualified person to join its team as Editorial and Media Coordinator for the Center's bilingual website, social media, and other online and offline content. Following a month-long training period, the Editorial and Media Coordinator will be responsible to translate and edit English and Greek texts and publish them online based on CHS Greece's established practices, taking into consideration Harvard's and CHS's accessibility guidelines. She/he will also manage CHS Greece's social media accounts and have the opportunity to work on new outreach tools and campaigns; bring in her/his experience and ideas to improve existing content and guidelines or develop new ones; work on a daily basis with our entire team; cooperate with colleagues from CHS US on a regular basis; and participate in communications with Harvard's Digital Accessibility and Web Publishing Offices, as well as with colleagues from the OpenScholar platform. 

Job-Specific Responsibilities

  • Translating, editing, and proofreading content for the CHS Greece website, media outlets, and other online and printed material in two source/target languages (English and Greek) 
  • Planning, coordinating, and updating the CHS Greece website, social media, and email platform 
  • Collaborating daily with colleagues to support, organize and monitor the editing and publishing process of various materials 
  • Participating in regular meetings with the CHS Greece team and in various online or in-person activities of the Center, pertinent to the content generation 

The Editorial and Media Coordinator can work remotely, especially under the current conditions. Office space will also be provided either at the CHS Greece headquarters in Nafplio or the Center's offices in Thessaloniki and Athens. Applicants residing in these locations or with the capacity of traveling to the aforementioned locations on a regular basis, when conditions allow it, will be further considered.
