The Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford, in association with Christ Church, is seeking to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Patristics to play an active role in the teaching of existing undergraduate and graduate courses in Patristics for the Faculty and the College. The appointee will become part of a vibrant research environment and will have opportunities to develop their career in research, teaching and collaborative work.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post available for 2 years from 1 October 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate (or equivalent) in the field of Patristics and will have demonstrable knowledge of the historical and cultural context of the Patristic period. They will have a research record appropriate to the stage of their career along with aptitude for, and experience of teaching. A willingness and ability to take on some administrative tasks is a requirement as is a readiness to collaborate. Competence in Ancient Greek would be an advantage.
